About

We think monitoring should see the future

Foreseer started from a simple frustration: the dashboards were always green until the moment they weren't. Teams running their own Elasticsearch, Redis and Logstash had plenty of metrics — and almost no foresight. The signal that mattered was buried under a hundred panels nobody had time to watch.

We'd lived the 2am page where the fix was obvious in hindsight: a disk that had been filling predictably for ten hours, an eviction policy that was always going to bite, a shard that was never going to relocate in time. The data was there. Nothing was watching the trend.

So we built the layer that watches for you. Forecasting analyzers tuned to each engine, an LLM that explains what's happening in the language of an experienced SRE, and an agent that installs in one line. The result is a quieter, smarter on-call — one that tells you what's about to break and how to stop it.

We're a small, focused team building the monitoring tool we always wished we had — and we'd rather do one thing (seeing failures coming) genuinely well than bolt on features we don't believe in.

The honest version: I got tired of explaining, in incident reviews, that the signal was there the whole time and nobody was looking at the right line. Foreseer is the thing I wanted on call.

How we approach it

01

Collect quietly

Augur, our single agent, ships telemetry from every service on a VM. No per-node sprawl, no hand-written config.

02

Forecast continuously

Per-engine analyzers fit trends and correlate signals — disk fill rate, heap pressure, eviction velocity, queue depth — and project them forward.

03

Explain in plain English

When a forecast predicts trouble, an LLM writes the insight: symptom, cause, blast radius, and the exact fix. Then it auto-resolves when the condition clears.

What we believe

Signal over noise

A monitoring tool that pages you for everything is a tool you eventually mute. We optimize for the alert you act on.

Foresight over hindsight

A graph of an outage you already had is a post-mortem. We invest everything in the hours before.

Yours to run

Your infrastructure is self-hosted for a reason. We respect that — credentials stay on your VMs, data flows to stores you control.

What Foreseer isn't

Knowing what a tool won't do is as useful as knowing what it will. We'd rather be clear up front.

It's not an APM

We don't trace requests across services or profile your code. If you need distributed tracing, keep your APM — Foreseer watches the datastores underneath it.

It's not log search

We read service health and metrics, never your log contents or document bodies. Keep your log tooling; we'll tell you when the pipeline carrying them is about to back up.

It's not magic

Forecasting catches the slow-burn failures — fill, leaks, saturation. It won't predict a bad deploy or a yanked cable. Nothing can, and we won't pretend otherwise.
